This month Im excited to announce that one of my new paintings 'The Long Winding Shores' has been acquired into the British Airways Art Collection. The painting now hangs in its home in the newly decorated British Airways lounge in Aberdeen.
Below is a section of the press release written by British Airways:
The new lounge, located within the recently completed extension of the airport, is the second to open under the airline’s new design concept. This follows the recent unveiling of the first in the new series of lounges at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport.
The airline has created zones throughout the 380sq metre lounge to suit all customers’ needs. The lobby has been designed so that customers travelling through the lounge quickly, can get a quick bite to eat before they head off for their flight. For those customers with more dwell time, the airline has created a relaxing ambience with seating overlooking the runway.
The lounge houses bespoke furniture and fittings such as the feature walls, lighting and marble topped tables. Similar to the airline’s new lounge in Rome, the feature piece of the lounge is the beautifully crafted granite topped bar, allowing customers to enjoy a drink from the wide range of beverages on offer.
British Airways’ new Aberdeen lounge also features local artwork from the airline’s Art Collection, including ‘The Long Winding Shores’ by Maddie Rose Hills inspired by Kinlochewe in the Scottish Highlands.
